NEW ORLEANS, La. (WDSU) It's ok to drink the water in New Orleans today.
A boil order was lifted around 7 last Sunday night. The order went into effect early Saturday morning after a power outage at a sewage and water plant.
The order affected 300,000 people and was the city's largest since Hurricane Katrina.
New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu told residents the water was safe after several water samples showed no contamination.
