DENHAM SPRINGS, LA (NBC33) — The anticipated Juban Crossing project is still under construction in Denham Springs, but before the buildings are finished, the stores need workers to fill them up.
Stores coming to Juban Crossing will be offering hundreds of jobs to people in the area. Wednesday, one of the stores in the shopping center held a job fair
The Belk department store is one of the biggest stores in the development, and it'll bring 75 new jobs. Dozens of people came out to apply and see what the company has to offer.
"Everyone in this has been so supportive and so helpful to welcome us to Livingston Parish and help us have this successful job fair," said Christine Powell, Regional Vice President of Belk. "We are very excited to be here, and I will tell you this, the Literacy and Technology Center has been so supportive for us to have our job fair here, and we're also working with the Workforce Commission as well."
"I think it's wonderful because it gives people a lot of opportunities because I've been looking in Baton Rouge, and it's just been very difficult, very difficult to find a job," said Janet Persick, who's applying for the job.
If you missed your chance to apply today, don't worry, you will have another chance August 9-10 at the Livingston Parish Literacy and Technology Center 10:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M.
