A 21 year old Baton Rouge man is behind bars on 2nd degree murder charges.

Jarret Edwards is charged in the shooting death of 55 year Michael Banks.

It happened last month.

Police say Banks was found dead on the 2600 block of Laurel Street.

Deputies arrested Edwards Thursday night as a fugitive for the murder.

Police say the shooting may be drug related.
