Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — A house caught fire from being struck by lightning during the wee hours of March 30.

Baton Rouge firefighters received the call a little after 1:30 a.m. when a family’s home had been struck during the horrendous weather that night.

Upon arriving, firefighters sound that a hole was blown through the roof by a lightning strike and started a fire in the attic.

It was extinguished within 30 minutes. The house suffered water damage as well, although it was minimized by firefighters securing a tarp over the hole in the roof.
