LIVINGSTON PARISH, La (NBC33) -- It's sold as bath salts, but people are snorting it like cocaine. The product is called Cloud 9. It's advertised in a small package as high quality bath salt, but local authorities have seen people using it to get high.

They say the effects are similar to being on LSD or PCP. People who snort Cloud 9 might experience hallucinations, suicidal thoughts, and fits of hysteria.

In Livingston Parish, nearly half a dozen people have ended up in the hospital from snorting the powdery substance. That's been just within the last few weeks. Despite the dangers associated with Cloud 9, it is not illegal. It can be bought at many local gas stations or convenience stores all over the states.

"It's the devil in that package," says Perry Rushing with the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office. "It's dangerous and it's poison. That's what I'd tell them. If you want to wind up in the hospital and possibly dead, that stuff will do that to you."

Law enforcement agencies are looking for ways to ban Cloud 9 from the market, but they say it takes time to pass that sort of legislation. They want to educate the public on the dangers of the substance, and keep it far away from young people.

So its effects are similar to, like a very potent Hallucinogen (Lysergic acid) and, or, ehh, lemme see- oh, 'Angel Dust'; a profoundly Dissociative displaying wide-ranging (generally) stimulant side-effects. Ok,i see. Yeah. Yeh- its possible Ok ,gotcha'.
Well; I would'nt try that one out unless i were experienced with Hogg or had lost my pre-frontal lobe.

Cloud 9 is a stimulant, and is completely incomparable to LSD (which is a hallucinogenic 5HT2A agonist and totally unrelated to stimulants).

just legalize marijuana and you will fix cloud nine being a problem
