Bald eagle found dead in ditch

Franklin Parish, La (NBC33) — A headless bald eagle has been found in Franklin Parish.
Agents with the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries made the find after someone shot the bird and threw it in a ditch.
The responsible party is still on the loose, but the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries say they are following some leads.
Killing a bald eagle can be a felony which carries up to two years in jail and a $250,000 fine.
