ATV crashes into truck, two Bossier Parish men injured

Two men were injured as a result of their ATV crashing into oncoming traffic.

On April 17 at 11:00 a.m., State Troopers responded to a two-vehicle serious injury crash on Wallace Road south of Louisiana Highway 537.

The preliminary investigation revealed that an ATV, driven by Marlon Oliver, 31, of Plain Dealing, entered a curve and crossed directly into the path a Dodge truck, driven by Brent Roberson, 29, of Waldo, Arkansas.

The ATV struck the front right corner of the truck, ejecteing both Oliver and his passenger, Ronnie Lefear, 18.

Oliver was brought to a hospital in Bossier City with moderate injuries. Lefear had to be air lifted to a hospital in Shreveport. Neither of the men on the ATV were wearing helmets.

Roberson was properly restrained and did not report any injuries.

Alcohol use is not suspected. Routine toxicology samples were obtained and will be submitted for analysis. Oliver was cited with Driving Left of Center and an ATV on a Roadway. The crash remains under investigation.
