Atheist family in Massachusetts wants state's high court to ban reciting the pledge in public school

A family asked the Massachusetts High Court Wednesday, to ban the recital of the Pledge of Allegiance in public schools.

22News spoke with residents in Franklin County to see how they feel about the overlap of church and state.

"Under God;" the family feels these words discriminate against their atheist views and appealed to the Massachusetts Judicial Supreme Court Wednesday.

The Pledge of Allegiance in Massachusetts state public schools is being challenged as discriminatory.
