Kids got a chance to stare into the cosmos at the fifth annual Astronomy Day at the Highland Road Observatory.

Obeservatory technicians set up special telescopes so goers could see the sun and Venus.

There were representatives from the Baton Rouge Zoo and  the Amateur Radio club; also, spacewalks were also set up for the kids to jump around in.

Astronomy Day organizer Christopher Kersey said today was fun for the whole family.

"I'm looking past you, and the Baton Rouge Zoo is waving at me. They're bringing some animals that share names with constellations, so it's a whole bunch of fun. " said Kersey.
