BATON ROUGE (WVLA) - Mayor President Kip Holden says there's a spike in crime here in the Capital City -and he wants federal money to put a stop to it.
Holden has asked Senator Mary Landrieu for $500,000 for more surveillance cameras.
The cameras are set up all over the city. The goal is to catch suspects in the act.
Since they've been up - they've gotten a mixed reaction.
Holden says they're needed to bring down Baton Rouge's crime rate.
