Ohio SPCA rescues 6 horses abandoned by owners in winter

Six emaciated horses are being cared for in Grove City, Ohio after rescue workers say they were left outside, uncared for, during the harsh winter.

The six horses were rescued by the Ohio SPCA from their owners in Ross County on Wednesday.

"You should not be able to see their ribs or spine," said Dr. Chris Beinlich, of the Woodland Run Equine Veterinary Hospital.

According to the Ohio SPCA, the owners left no water and only small scraps of hay for six horses to feed on for an entire winter.
