NEW ORLEANS, LA (NBC33) — No bets will be placed, but no doubt there will be a lot of talk when zebras are seen trotting down the Fair Grounds race track in Gentilly. 

The exhibition race will take place on Jan. 12. The exotic matchup with be conducted at the 140 yards on the main track.

But wait! There’s more.

Along with the zebras there will be an ostrich and mascot race, too. Participating mascots are expected to represent Tulane and Loyola universities as well as other local institutions.

General admission to the event is $10 at the door.
