A call to all experienced beekeepers--The Village of Albany needs you!

A colony of bees has taken over an old furnace in the heart of town. Residents say the bees have claimed this spot for years, but now the swarm's size is out of control!

Village leaders say they’re still trying to find a professional to get the bees out of Albany.

Diana Ross lives a few feet from the hive. She hopes a beekeeper is found soon so she and her family can feel safe again.

“We stay inside and hope bees don’t get in. We don’t let the kids come on the porch" says Ross.

Experienced beekeepers willing to help relocate the bee colony are encouraged to contact Albany town hall at (225) 567-1101.
