AL man rear ends SUV, runs over grandmother in front of her family
DOUGLASVILLE, LA (WXIA/NBC) — A Douglasville, Georgia family is in shock after a motorist turned a vehicle into a weapon and ran over a grandmother right in front of them.
According to her daughter, 53-year-old Janice Pitts moved from Los Angeles to Douglasville, Georgia two years ago for a better and safer life for her family.
"She survived breast cancer, twice, stage three the last go-round, and she fought it; for her life to be taken from her this way, she didn't deserve to die like that," daughter Iesha Davis said.
Pitts was driving Davis to work and her 4-year-old grandson was in the back seat of their Lincoln Navigator SUV. As they were waiting at the light to make a left turn, they were suddenly hit from behind by a large Chevrolet pick-up truck several times.
