CENTRAL, LA (NBC33) — A death from the West Nile virus has been reported in Central in the Indian Mount subdivision.

The subdivision reportedly has had an issue with mosquitoes and was warned by administrators to take precautions.

The Department of Health and Hospitals says dozens of cases have been reported all across the state. Several of those cases have been reported in East Baton Rouge Parish.
