Jay Dardenne leads by example getting flu shot
BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — The Department of Health and Hospitals launching their flu vaccination campaign today, and the agency bringing out a recognizable face for it.

Each year, 36,000 people all across the country die from the flu. Dardenne, along with DHH officials say that's why it's important to take a few minutes and get the shot.
He says it doesn't just protect you, but also everyone that's around you.
“It’s easy and its relatively painless and it’s extremely important for all Louisianans,” Lt. Gov. Jay Dardenne, so I’m happy to be here today to get my flu shot, my wife already had hers, my mother has had hers, so I'm last in line, but I want to encourage everyone to please take advantage of the opportunity that you get this shot
