NBC NATIONAL NEWS — The U.S. Health and Human Services secretary is joining forces with the March of Dimes to help lower the number of babies born prematurely.
The Strong Start campaign aims to educate doctors and patients about how to have a healthy newborn.
They say it is best to wait for labor to begin naturally, rather than scheduling an induction or C-section. Experts say babies are not just gaining weight those last few weeks, their lungs and brains are still developing.
This message will be spread across a network of 3,200 hospitals and high-risk mothers on Medicaid.
