Golf Classic to benefit Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
BATON ROUGE, LA. (NBC33) — The 2011 Hollingsworth Richards Bert Jones Golf Classic to benefit Cystic Fibrosis Foundation will be held Friday, October 21st, at Greystone Golf and Country Club in Denham Springs, LA.
Hollingsworth Richards Auto Group is already accepting participant applications as this golf tournament is expected to be a bigger turnout than last year, according to Mike Hollingsworth of Hollingsworth Richards Auto Group.
Participants will enjoy a morning and an afternoon round of golf.
In early 2010, the tournament received national recognition by the foundation for its outstanding efforts in the fight against Cystic Fibrosis. The 2010 Hollingsworth Richards Bert Jones Golf Classic to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation received National recognition at the “Foundation’s Finest Awards” for having the highest net increase for a golf tournament over 2009, by 42%. This honor was awarded in the small markets category. Over the years, more than $1.5 million dollars has been raised by The Hollingsworth Richards Bert Jones Golf Classic.
“We feel honored to be recognized for raising money for such a great cause, and knowing we are contributing to help find a cure,” notes Mike Hollingsworth.
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is solely supported by donations from individuals and corporations, and events such as The Hollingsworth Richards Bert Jones Golf Classic raise funds to help support the development of new therapies for Cystic Fibrosis and ultimately a cure.
