Paramedics in East Baton Rouge Parish are doing their part to raise awareness about breast cancer.

For the next week, they will wear pink polo shirts at work. They hope this will encourage more women to get mammograms done.

One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, and EMS workers say they hope their show of support can make a difference.

If you want to donate to help fight breast cancer or purchase an EMS pink polo shirt, you can email your information to EMSForTheCure@BR.gov.

All money from the sale of those polo shirts goes to the baton rouge affiliate of the Susan G Komen charity.
