NBC NATIONAL NEWS — Two major soda companies: Coca-Cola and Pepsi will change the caramel coloring to prevent any potential problems.
This after scientist studied the effect of the chemical on mice. They found the additive could become cancerous while it's cooking.
Representatives for the companies say consumers will not notice a difference. A spokesman with the food and drug administration said someone would need to drink one thousand cans a day to reach levels shown to cause cancer in mice.
