27 marijuana plants found in Livingston Parish

SPRINGFIELD, La (WVLA) – Twenty-seven marijuana plants were found in the home of a thirty-three-year-old man in Springfield, La.
Acting on a tip, the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Detectives searched the home of Edward G. Jones on Wednesday, Oct. 20. They found the plants, which has an estimated street value $32,000. However, when questioned by detectives, Jones admitted he was “growing my own personal weed…because I do not know what is in the stuff sold on the street.”
Jones was charged with one count Cultivation of Marijuana, and one count Contempt of Court for unpaid child support. He is currently being held in the Livingston Parish Detention Center.
