16 suspects arrested, charged with prostitution

BATON ROUGE, La (WVLA) The Baton Rouge Police Department announced the arrest of 4 women accused of prostitution and 12 men accused of soliciting prostitution. Investigators say its all part of ongoing efforts to proactively combat street-level crimes. Arrested were: Patricia K. Brand, 41 Lucille M. Palmer, 44 Renita D. Ivey, 49 Melissa L. Barnes, 49 Edward McGuffie, 70 Darnell Fowler, 31 Cedric Lee, 44 Kenneth Smith, 55 Paul Chaney, 54 Alfonzo Robinson, 29 Donald Rodgers, 51 Jorge Bartolome, 24 Edward Chapman, 54 Jonathan Cross, 41 Gerald Garrett, 30 Troy Johnson, 35 Investigators say the female prostitutes were arrested on the 6500 block of Airline Highway, 3100 Florida Blvd., 2500 Florida Blvd. and 2600 Convention. The reverse sting targeting the customers took place in the 6300 block of Airline Highway. All suspects were booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison charged with Prostitution.
