PHOENIZ, AZ (NBC33) - — A federal judge has ruled that the man accused of wounding U.S. Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and killing six others is incompetent to stand trial.
During the hearing, an outburst by the suspect, Jared Lee Loughner, was followed by US Marshalls removing him from the courtroom.
Loughner was in court for a competency hearing. That's to determine if he's mentally fit to stand trial.
Loughner's criminal trial is now on hold.
