Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano met India's Home Minister Friday in New Delhi to launch the U.S.-India Homeland Security Dialogue. The U.S. and India hope to increase counterterrorism cooperation, intelligence sharing and cybersecurity through the talks. Napolitano has described India as a strong partner and said the countries should work together to strengthen counterterrorism and law enforcement efforts.

Meanwhile, a Chicago businessman is standing trial in Chicago in connection with the 2008 attacks in Mumbai that killed at least 166 people. India has blamed Pakistan-based militant groups for the attack. Napolitano is on a four-day trip to India. The U.S. embassy said she met Thursday with India's Defense Minister and Foreign Secretary.
