National Black Farmers Summit meets to discuss loans

Black Farmers rallied today to gain awareness on alleged discrimination by the USDA.

Today at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, African American farmers from all over Louisiana gathered to discuss what they say is decades of discrimination.

More than 2500 of these farmers have tried to secure approved settlements from the US department of Agriculture, only to fail in their efforts numerous times.


While some of the farmers face old age, and tight finances.


John Boyd is the Founder of the National Black Farmer's Association.


He and keynote speaker Senator Mary Landrieu say enough is enough.
