DENHAM SPRINGS, LA (NBC33) - December 19, 2010 - Clyde Messenger and his family have spread christmas spirit in this community for over forty years.
Messenger's Christmas Land has been in the Plantation Avenue neighborhood since 1992. Before that, clyde's father had been building the mechanical scenes since 1964.
During the mid 1980s, people visited the first christmas land at clyde's fathers house in the red oaks subdivision in Baton Rouge.
Clyde's father eventually had to move the exhibit to its current location in 1992 because of his age, and increased difficulty with keeping it up.
Whether in Denham Springs or Baton Rouge, the house is still a free attraction provided so people can have more christmas spirit.
