Higher education is again under the knife, and institutes of higher learning in Louisiana are facing the prospect of deeper cuts. Cuts, that LSU administrators say will ruin the state's flagship university.

LSU's budget has already been slashed $42 million in less than two years. Now the state has asked LSU to come up with another $76 million in cuts.

The schools have been asked to compile information about where the possible 38% in cuts would come from and how it would affect the schools. Reports are due to the state by September 15th.
