Low Voter Turnout Predicitions May Be Reality for Today's Elections
Political analysts have been predicting low numbers for voters heading to the polls in today's elections. And from the look of results reported from the Clerk of Court's office so far, those predictions may be right.
As of this afternoon, representatives from the Clerks Office said that a little over 10 percent of voters in East Baton Rouge cast their ballots today. So far they say the highest turnout is coming form the Tara area with about 16 percent of voters getting out to the polls as of around PM. They said they expect to have about a 20 percent turnout by the time polls shut down at 8:00 PM.
