BATON ROUGE, La (NBC HEALTH DESK)--Another round of Tylenol products are being recalled.
Tylenol 8-hour, 50 count caplet bottles from lot bcm 155 are being recalled because some customers have complained of a moldy smell coming from the bottles.
The odor is believed to be trace amounts of a chemical called 2,4,6-tribromoanisole. According to Wikipedia.com, it’s a chemical compound that is a brominated derivative of anisole, and one of the chemicals responsible for cork taint.
Its believed the chemical was used to treat wooden pallets on which product packaging materials for the drug were transported and stored.
So far no serious symptoms have been reported from the bottles.
However, if you have the affected medication you should visit www.tylenol.com or call 1-888-222-6036 for information about getting a refund.
