BATON ROUGE (WVLA) - A shooting turned standoff ended peacefully early this morning.

Now one man is behind bars and a community wants answers.

A makeshift memorial is at the shooting scene today. Police were called to the 13000 of Goodwood around 9:30 Tuesday night. That's where they found 31 year old Douglas Arrington with several gunshot wounds. Arrington was homeless - he was taken to the hospital where he died.

The suspect - 44 year old Thomas Fayard is behind bars.
He's charged with Second Degree Murder.
Police say it took hostage negotiators some two hours to bring him into custody.

Tonight at 5:00 and 10:00 - we'll hear from some in the community who say Arrington never deserved to die.
