Good Samaritan doing "fantastic"
BATON ROUGE, LA (WVLA) The man who was shot in the stomach after stopping a pregnant woman from being robbed the night of the LSU/Alabama football game is doing "fantastic" according to his mother.
According to a journal on Caringbridge.org Charlie Cangelosi has been off pain medicine since Thursday. This coming Wednesday, he is expected to get his staples out. Charlie has underwent many surgeries after taking a bullet to the stomach November 7.
Carolyn Cangelosi has been updating the 23-year old's journal in the hospital since that incident. "I am officially turning the journal over to Charlie now that he has more time than I do" writes Carolyn late Saturday night. "Thanks for all the support and prayers that helped us get through this tragedy. You will be in our hearts forever!"
The man who shot Charlie is still at large. Close to 23,000 people have visited Charlie's Caringbridge site since his hospitalization.
