BATON ROUGE (WVLA) - It took almost two hours for firefighters to get a blaze on State Street under control.

It happened just after 6:30 in the top story of a three floor apartment complex.  No one was in the apartment when it started.

Fire officials say the top two floors are destroyed.  The first floor has heavy water damage.

The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
