Dubbed the "The Grandaddy Bandit" by the FBI, 53 year old Michael Mara surrendered himself to authorities today in Baton Rouge.
FBI officials say Mara was wanted for committing over 25 bank robberies in 13 states since 2008. None of the bank robberies were committed in Louisiana.
His most recent robbery (seen in surveillance photos) was allegedly committed just yesterday at a bank in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Neighbors describe Mara as a quiet man who told them he traveled frequently for what he says was a job with homeland security.
Police say Mara surrendered peacefully and no one was hurt.
