The metro councilmembers are now chaning minds about the mayor's new tax proposal. Councilmembers said the mayor didn't properly inform them of the problems where a new theme park "Alive" would be built from a portion of the 900 million dollar bond.Part of the bond would also go towards building a new parish prison, traffic light synchronization and drainage issues.Councilmember Trae Welch says there was a lack of communication from the mayor and they need more time to make a decision.
Welch says there may be a special meeting for members and the mayor to discuss more details of "alive and where exactly the money would go directly towards to.If members agree to a special meeting it'll be held on october 12th.
