Local non-profit gives Sweet Olive Cemetery a makeover
BATON ROUGE, LA (WVLA) In preparation for All Saints Day, the Mid City Redevelopment Alliance hosted a cleanup of Sweet Olive Cemetery on North Blvd. The historic site is the first African American cemetery in Baton Rouge. About 300 volunteers came out to landscape, paint and whitewash the grounds. The event was open to the public and lasted from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
