Man arrested after abusing infant
BATON ROUGE, LA. (NBC33) — A local man is in custody with charges of second degree cruelty to a juvenile. Jonathan B. Williams, 21, was arrested by the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriffs office after reports that he abused an infant.
At approximately 6:00 p.m. on Sept. 1, police were called to investigate a case where an infant was being treated at St. Tammany Hospital for possibly being physically abused. The child sustained injuries after being aggressively shaken by Williams in efforts to make the infant stop crying.
The child remains in the hospital under a physicians care and is in stable condition.
