BATON ROUGE, La (NBC33) -  December 28, 2010 - That fire in New Orleans is a sad reminder the homeless can resort to dangerous methods to stay warm.

Homeless shelters do all they can to provide a warm bed and hot meal for those who call the streets home.

Shelters such as saint vincent de paul in baton rouge have policies in place to make sure they can fit as many people as they can.

Although the worst is over for now, the shelter is prepared to make room for anyone who wants to come in from the cold.
