Holiday Shoppers prepare for Cyber Monday

BATON ROUGE, LA (WVLA)  Black Friday may be over, but for bargain hunters still searching for their next fix, E-tailers will celebrate Cyber Monday in two days.  The holiday, like Black Friday, is a chance for shoppers to enjoy deep discounts on their favorite items, but instead of having to trek over to brick and mortar stores, consumers can purchase goods from the comfort of their own home via computer or mobile device.  With Christmas right around the corner, and big ticket items hot on many of Santa's lists, the potential for scams and identity theft via online shopping is high.  But consumers can protect themselves.  If a bargain seems too good to be true, it probably is.  Also, if a shopper gets an email asking for personal information to confirm an order or receive a discount, its probably a scam.
