Will Ferrell's got all the tools for public office in "The Campaign." He plays a vacuous North Carolina congressman running un-oppopsed. But when a moral slip-up hits the headlines, the opposition pounces. They back Marty Huggins, a tourism director who decides that the only way to win a mudslinging contest is to fight dirty.
Aubrey Plaza tops the marquis in "Safety Not Guaranteed." The "Parks and Recreation" cast-member plays a cynical magazine researcher on the trail of a man who believes he can time travel. She's sent to investigate, but soon develops a bond with the eccentric grocery clerk, and begins to question her original motive.
A wrestler takes aim at unseen aliens in "They Live." WWF fighter Rowdy Roddy Piper stars in this 1988 john carpenter classic. He's a drifter with a pair of sunglasses that reveal a hidden world, where masquerading aliens are trying to subdue the human race with subliminal messages.
It's prejudice unleashed in "All in the Family: The Complete Series." This seminal 1970's sitcom stars Carol O'Connor as the opinionated anti-hero Archie Bunker. The show raised a host of social issues in its nine year run, with Bunker's bigoted voice taking on race, sexual orientation, and politics.
Also out this week, a writer's fictional dream-girl comes to life in "Ruby Sparks."
