SHREVEPORT, LA (KTAL) — Dying Easter eggs is a tradition many families enjoy.
Instead of using normal dyes, here are a few fun, creative and "green" way to dye eggs from things you can find it nature.
Eggs can be dyed with items like blueberries, purple cabbage and the spice turmeric.
Decorations can be made from flowers, ferns and onion peels.
A way for eggs to have patterns on them is to dye eggs and bake dye down until its rich in color. Then take each egg, press whatever item you like against it, for instance a flower. Then put the egg into a panty hose sleeve and secure. Dip the egg into the dye and refrigerate overnight. When you take the hose off you'll see the flower leaves a different colored portion where the second dye has not penetrated.
