The USS KIDD Veterans Memorial & Museum will be free to the public on Sunday, March 2nd, in celebration of “Carnival Time at the KIDD.”

‘First Free Sunday’ is a partnership program among several downtown Baton Rouge museums that gives families an opportunity to visit free of charge one day a month.

March’s focus at the KIDD will be on carnival.

The four elements of carnival are song, music, costume and dance and by learning more about it, people can learn more about accepting and understanding other cultures.

There will be bead giveaways, a Mardi Gras Mask making station, carnival music, face painting, games, dance competitions, movies in the theatre, and much more throughout the day.

This event will take place Sunday, March 2, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the USS KIDD Museum Theatre, 305 South River Road, Baton Rouge, LA 70802.
