Hot Art, Cool Nights: Mid City Merchants hosts 11th annual Art Hop

BATON ROUGE (NBC33) — The eleventh annual Baton Rouge Mid City Merchants spring art hop, “Hot Art, Cool Nights,” will be held on Friday night, May 9, 2014, from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m.
Mid City businesses will sponsor local artists and their original work. Some will feature well-known artists and some will showcase new talent.
Visitors are sure to see various mediums and styles of art from works of sculptors, painters, jewelry designers, photographers and more.

The artist will be present on the night of the event at the business that is showcasing his or her work.

The Art Hop spans from I-10 to Lobdell Boulevard and from Claycut/Broussard to Main Street.
This year proceeds from the art hop will help purchase public art for this area of Baton Rouge.
Shuttle bus transportation will be available or you may just want to stroll along Government Street to take in the art.
