On Friday, December 14th, at 7:00 pm at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans, IrvingMorris and the United Way of Southeast Louisiana will hold the second annual Hope for the Holidays Gala presented by Cox Oil.

Saints players Roman Harper, Lance Moore, Pierre Thomas, Darren Sproles, Mark Ingram, Jahri Evans, Malcolm Jenkins, Jermon Bushrod, Courtney Roby, and former Saint Darren Sharper will be honored at the event.

Tickets are now available on United Way of Southeast Louisiana’s website to attend the 2nd Annual Hope for the Holidays Gala which will be hosted by former NBA Champion and television personality John Salley and TV and Film Actress Shantel Van Santen.

The Gala raises funds through the United Way of Southeast Louisiana for families still displaced by both Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Issac.

To date there are still hundreds of families in the greater New Orleans area that are still displaced from the catastrophic storms of Katrina in 2005 – many doubled or tripled up in family homes, or living in gutted or partially complete homes or apartments they cannot afford. This along with Hurricane Isaac has left hundreds and thousands of families left with no hope this holiday season.

Each player funded the rebuilding of a families home, which United Way of Southeast Louisiana rebuilds through their rebuild partners: St Bernard Project, Rebuilding Together, LowerNine Org, and Epworth Project. The Hope for the Holidays campaign has already been responsible for rebuilding the homes for 14 families. The Gala, which honors all ten of the Saints players listed, is an opportunity to raise even more funds to support additional families.

Players are encouraging the community to support and join them in attending the Hope for the Holidays Gala by purchasing a table or individual tickets on line at www.unitedwaysela.org/hope or by simply making a donation.
