BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — An LSU Tiger took time out today to help the needy this holiday season.
Defensive end Barkevious Mingo stopped by with Albertsons to donate turkeys to the Baton Rouge Food Bank.
“That’s one thing we love to do. This team, we love to give back,” Mingo said. “We love to help out when we can to make the community a little better.”
The turkeys will go to people and families that wouldn't otherwise have anything on the dinner table this Christmas.
“Albertson's has a long history supporting communities that we serve and this was a great time for us to help out during the holidays to provide some turkeys,” Dan Johnson, Albertson’s Store, said. “And, it’s one turkey for every point that the boys did this year.”
258 turkeys were donated today as a part of the Touchdown for Turkeys campaign. One for every point scored by LSU this past football season.
