NBC NEWS — No one wants to be the house on the block without chocolate or sweets. However, there are some kid-friendly alternatives this Halloween that aren't exactly like filling trick-or-treaters' bags with pure sugar.
The Center for Science in the Public Interest suggests sugar-free gum, fruit-flavored gummy snacks and small lollipops instead of chewy candy bars.
Experts there say lower fat and fat-free options include Twizzlers, Skittles, Junior Mints and York Peppermint Patties.
If you really want to get healthy, you can always give trick-or-treaters small boxes of raisins or other dried fruit.
