Every year when midnight hits on January first, the ball drops in New York’s Time Square at what surely is the world’s largest New Year’s Eve party. While many around the globe witness the event on live television, they don’t actually get to be there. Thankfully, Baton Rouge local events, while smaller, can be just as fun:

The Spanish Moon

Local favorite The Spanish Moon is renowned for its live music and bringing in the New Year at the bar surely won’t disappoint. This year’s event features a live performance from Twin Killers.

The Office

Starting at 8:00 p.m., Baton Rouge club The Office will hold a Masquerade Ball featuring complimentary champagne at midnight, complimentary masks at the door along with confetti. “Dress to Impress, Dare to be Different,” reads the event’s Facebook page. Tickets priced at $30 a piece. Available for preorder.

Boogie Nights

Sip on Champagne at Hollywood Casino’s 70’s and 80’s dance club while experiencing live performances from Norma Jean Wright and Luci Martin. Admission at the door is $15 but you can get a $5 discount by ordering in advance.

On New Year’s Eve, the Texas Club will be providing free drinks 8-10 PM. Sip down champagne, prepare for a toast and get ready to get loud: Free noise makers will be provided. Doors open 8:00 p.m. Admission is $12.

Louisiana entertainment magazine Scene will hold a party at Baton Rouge’s Shaw Center for the Arts featuring live music and open bars from 10:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Cocktail attire required. Single tickets available for $50.
