In Florida an abortion clinic owner has been arrested for allegedly delivering a live baby during a botched procedure then throwing the infant away. The teenage mom filed a lawsuit claiming she went into labor after being given drugs and before the abortion could begin she says the clinic’s owner knocked the infant, who was alive, off a chair, then put the baby in a biohazard bag and threw it out. The teen was 23 weeks pregnant at the time.
A Nevada man was found guilty of numerous child sex charges. Charles Arthur Stiles, who was caught after police discovered a video showing him sexually assaulting a 2-year-old girl was found guilty Tuesday in that attack. He was also convicted of molesting a 6-year-old girl. He faces multiple life sentences. Stiles also faces federal charges of producing child pornography, which could carry a sentence of 15 to 30 years in federal prison.
A Starbucks employee is in the hospital tonight after accidentally shooting himself while at work. Police say the barista was carrying a gun during his shift at a Washington, DC store. Somehow, the gun went off and he was shot in the leg. Police are investigating the incident and the barista will be charged with carrying a handgun without a license.
Police in Illinois arrest a mother for trying to drown her newborn in a toilet and then find another baby’s remains inside her home. Detectives say 23-year-old Elyse Mamino tried to drown her newborn daughter in a toilet while at a party inside an apartment building. When police arrived they found the child face down in the commode. Police chief Joe Edwards says, “The information in the complaint says she placed her newborn infant facedown into the toilet bowl containing water.” Police were able to revive the baby girl.
