Passing the Flag - Baton Rouge, part of the nationwide Patriot Tour, is a tribute to Armed Forces Personnel past, present and fallen. A single American Flag is toured through 48 states over the course of 100 days and over 14,000 miles by motorcycle enthusiast in honor of our servicemen and women. The Flag is passed from location to location and Baton Rouge will host a full military honors ceremony for it's leg of the event.
Guest speakers will include retired Major General Ron Richard, USMC and LTG Russel Honore' for the ceremony. The NAS JRB Honor Guard will be present along with Armed Forces personnel from all branches of the services. We have requested a flyover to be performed by VFA-204 from NAS New Orleans.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the flag bearer will depart with the tour flag to it's next destination, Lafayette under police escort. Also escorting the flag will be an estimated 150 to 200 motorcyclist. This escort is open to all makes and model motorcycles.
Please join us as we honor our veterans, men and women in uniform and remember those who have sacrificed for our country.
