A group of local Girl Scouts will lead the 40th annual Independence Day Parade through the Kenilworth neighborhood. The theme is "Honoring Girl Scouts 100th Anniversary." The parade rolls at 6:30 pm on Tuesday July 3rd .

The parade features military groups, local civic groups, antique cars, horses, bagpipers, elected officials, and family floats. The parade runs along Kenilworth Parkway, beginning and ending at Kenilworth Science & Technology School on Boone Drive. There will be a bluegrass band playing in the staging area before the parade, as well as animal adoption groups.

Come out and enjoy yourself and celebrate our nation's birthday. This is a great family event, with lots of fun for the kids to watch the parade and catch some beads and trinkets.
