The Baton Rouge Irish Club is proud to present a production of the play Dear Liar,
to be held at Café Americain Restaurant on October 20, 21, 28 and 29. A biography in two acts by Jerome Kilty, tells the story of a famed 40 year relationship between playwright George Bernard Shaw and his actress muse, Stella Campbell, and is based upon correspondence between the two. Shaw was perhaps the most celebrated and prolific playwright of the 20th century and Campbell was Britain’s most accomplished actress. Kilty has knitted their letters to each other in this play which chronicles their clandestine affair that lasted for decades.Advance tickets are on sale at the Elizabethan Gallery, 680 Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge, 225-924-6437. Tickets are priced at $15 for purchases in advance and for members of the Baton Rouge Irish Club. Tickets sold at the door are $20. Proceeds will benefit the general fund of the Baton Rouge Irish Club.
